As part of a large CAPEX project Novus Leisure wanted to bring Forge Bar in line with the burgeoning craft trend in the on-trade – something specifically popular with independently owned venues.
Sweet&Chilli was brought in during the initial planning phase to consult on the overall drinking concept for the venue. In addition to working alongside the design team to ensure the bar ergonomics were at their best this included introducing a range of craft products, cut ice and a fresh ‘on the spot’ juicing procedure; something that is not traditionally seen in the world of multiple venue operations. These major changes were supported with training, revision material & close on-the-job contact with the staff to ensure that the implementation of new skills & knowledge was effective.
Now, a year down the line, the venue is growing from strength to strength, regularly winning praise & accolades from its customers & the industry. Through effective training & ergonomic work the venue has been able to maintain quick service times despite the addition of specialist techniques used within the new menu. Recently Thrillist named it one of London’s hottest new cocktails venues, something unheard of for such a large multiple site business owner such as Novus.
