The Melbourne Cup Carnival is the highlight of spring racing in Australia’s Victoria. Racegoers gather every year to flaunt their stylish outfits forming the sophistication and elegance that the spring carnival brings.
Packed full of high-profile celebrities, race sponsors and Victoria Race Club members, having previously brought the House of Johnnie Walker to the prestigious Birdcage area, for the last two years Sweet&Chilli worked with Schweppes and Willet marketing to activate their unique multi-sensory experience set in a marquee. With an impressive kinetic ceiling installation of glistening gold bubbles, inspired by the brand’s sparkling beverages, our mixologists provided gold standard services to create the freshest cocktails for all VIPs. With a delicious blend of vodka paired with the bold citrus of Schweppes Arum Blood Orange to create the official ‘Flemington Fling’ cocktail, the ‘Hot Favourite’ featured a bold blend of Blanco Tequilla, fresh chilli, aromatic mint mixed with Schweppes Dry Ginger Ale with all cocktails created by the in-house team.
Adding to the drinks experience, each race day begun with the smells of the rich flavours of citrus as per the fragrance of the Schweppes Indian Tonic Water, with the second half mixed up with aromatic spices blended with a warm blend of citrus and ginger inspired by the unique taste of the Schweppes Dry Ginger Ale giving guests something exclusive and outside of what they would usually experience within hospitality. The bar even attracted the live broadcasting crews interviewing our bar manager across a number of days.
