Exclusively for three days, the bar operations team in Sydney worked with Pepsi to host a pop-up experience - ‘The Vanilla Kitchen’. The event celebrated the release of Pepsi Max's new vanilla flavoured drink and worked alongside Australia’s top chefs Mitch Orr (ACME), Jimmy Hurlston (Guilty, Easey’s), Andy Bowdy (Andy Bowdy Pastry, Saga) and Andres Walters (The Lobo Plantation, The Kittyhawk) to formulate an epic culinary experience to consumers leaving Sweet&Chilli in charge of making some outstanding drinks.
The team worked their gastronomic magic on designing a top-secret three-course menu pushing the limits of vanilla, recreating classic dishes in ingenious ways alongside the mixology creations to complement each plate. Visitors were met with unexpected surprises at every stage of their flavour journey, with The Old Rum Store on Kensington Street transformed into an immersive dining environment, which was anything but vanilla.
Designed to surprise and delight consumers seeking a new and exciting dining experiences, the event proved a great benchmark to doing just that with some eye-catching styling and lavish lighting hosted in a blank canvas space.
Brad Van Dijk, senior director of beverages in Australia and New Zealand at PepsiCo summed up the event as a “proud moment bringing together the country’s most eminent food and drink talent in a big and bold way.”
We look forward to working with the team again to deliver new flavour experiences across Australia.
